ABOUT
Merry Miller-Gass is a picture book author, illustrator, and teaching artist with a passion for nurturing creativity in artists of all ages. Her whimsical illustrations have been featured in magazines such as Spider and Ladybug, published by Cricket Media. Currently, Merry is eagerly working on illustrating her debut picture books, 'DUCK DUCK GROOVE' (written by Jeanette Fazzari Jones) and 'NO LOVE POTION' (written by Christina Shawn), set to be released by The Little Press in 2025.
Merry is an active volunteer with the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), where she dedicates her time to supporting and connecting with fellow creators in the industry. She was a 2023 PB Party Finalist and has been featured in several SCBWI portfolio showcases and in various art & illustration contests over the years.
As a teaching artist, Merry brings her love for art to life through engaging workshops tailored for children and adults alike. With her warm and inclusive approach, she inspires and empowers artists of all ages to explore their creativity and express themselves through art. Whether she's crafting enchanting illustrations, volunteering with SCBWI, or leading art workshops, Merry's dedication to fostering creativity shines through in all she does.
Merry grew up in the coastal region of Ventura County, located in sunny Southern California. She now lives in the foothills of the Sierras with her husband, children, and their pets.
